Using iDocument in NEPOMUK

 iDocument is an information extraction system. It uses existing background knowledge such as business databases, concept maps, or other information models for improving extraction results.

It extracts entities (eg.,email adresses, names, URLs), instances, and semantic relations between instances with respect to used background knowledge. iDocument uses ontological knowledge representation techniques for interpreting background knowledge.

Using iDocument

iDocument reads your documents when you open them and suggests annotations to documents. You notice this especially in two situations

• Editing a wiki text in the PimoEditor
• Annotating a file with the DropBox

The recommendations will show up in the suggestions of the dropbox or in the "recommendations" view (if it is open).
