Using the web annotator
With the WebAnnotator you can annotate pages while browsing them in Internet Explorer, Firefox, or any other browser of your choice. It allows you to tag pages, give them a type, and relate them to other things in your pimo.
Installation
To use the Web page annotator, drag the bookmarklet to your browser bar. Go to your local nepomuk server and drag it from there to your browser bar (its on the lower half of this page). If this doesn't work for you, add a new bookmark to your browser with the title "Thing this!" and this content (in the field where you would usually put the web-address of the bookmark):
javascript:location.href="http://localhost:8181/pimoeditor/annotator.jsp?uri="+encodeURIComponent(location.href)+"&title="+encodeURIComponent(document.title)
It will appear as "Thing this!" button in your browser. If you don't know what a bookmarklet is and how to install it, read bookmarklets.com or squarefree's guide or the wikipedia page about bookmarklets
Using the annotator
While viewing a page you want to annotate, click the "Thing this!" button from your Bookmarks Toolbar.
It will open a PimoEditor page where you can add tags and relate the current page to existing elements in your pimo. You can also give the page a type, for example if you have been looking at a company's homepage, you may want to add the type "Organization". There is a quick-tagging entry field on top that helps you to quickly add the right relations.
Finding annotated pages
Once you have annotated a page, you can find it in your pimo. Search for it using the relations you added or by browsing to the right class.
