Using the Thunderbird Email tagging
Your e-mails are an important part of daily information work - with NEPOMUK you can tag them and relate them to projects and topics.
For Mozilla Thunderbird, a plugin is provided. The technical description of the plugin is here: DragonTalk .
Installing
Requirements:
- install NightlyBuilds, read UsingNepomuk to learn how to install Nepomuk
- download DragonTalk Tagging Plugin from the OpenDFKI DragonTalk project
- download Gnowsisplugin from DragonTalk
Add both XPIs to your thunderbird application by opening the Extras-Add ons window and pressing install there, more about installing Thunderbird extensions. Restart Thunderbird.
Configuration
Go to addons and configure the plugin, it should be set to:
- Port: 8181
- Server: http://localhost
Tagging e-mails
First, start Nepomuk and Thunderbird. See if the plugin is active in the add-ons list.
Go to your inbox view in Thunderbird and select an email. In the "preview" of the e-mail, you will notice an "add tag" button in the e-mail header.
Problems and FAQ
It doesn't work
start Thunderbird with the -console option to see some error messages.
