The NEPOPMUK Milestone 3 (Red Meteor) includes a Visual Knowledge Workbench which provide simultaneous support for textual and visual knowledge editing, and delivers information items directly mapped into the personal knowledge space. The Task Management is fully integrated with the Visual Knowledge Workbench, the social network software and the search and storage infrastructure, providing context dependent focused access to local and distributed information. The distributed search and storage system provides an integrated infrastructure for distributed search and storage; it contains update functionality and identity management, support for range queries, structured search (XPath-like queries), and a mapping of conceptual terms to P-Grid index structures, and is integrated with the social network software, which advanced community detection, self-organized metadata alignment, and reputation- and trust-based metadata sharing and recommendation facilities for the Visual Knowledge Workbench.
